I have given countless copies to friends. It is the finest DVD I own, by a mile, and I learn something new every time I watch it. It isn’t viewable on Youtube, but is easily the greatest summary of mankind’s mythologies ever made. If you are interested in mythology I highly recommend Joseph Campbells’s Sukhavati on DVD. Probably the oldest oral tradition is Grimms Fairy Tales – 1812 – which probably goes back to the Indo-Europeansīible King James Version – 1200 BCE-100 ADĬorpus Hermeticum – Hermes Trismegistus – 200 AD These dates are approximate and do not include the indeterminate period beforehand that extends far, far back, in some cases, to the caves.
